Toddler Killed and Six Injured as a Result of Reported Reckless Driving

A grand jury has decided to press charges against a Pennsylvania man who allegedly started a chain-reaction accident that resulted in the death of a toddler in June 2015. The man reportedly sideswiped an oncoming vehicle and then collided with two other cars that were stopped in traffic. As New Jersey Advance Media reports, the impact forced the third car that the man struck into a fourth vehicle, which was in turn pushed into a fifth vehicle.

Local police and prosecutors report that the man was driving recklessly at the time of the accident, though they have not provided further details. In total, the incident left six people and the driver himself with serious injuries. Tragically, the daughter of the woman who was driving the second stationary vehicle suffered severe trauma and ultimately passed away in a nearby hospital. The man now faces charges of fourth-degree assault and second-degree death by auto.
