Could You Have a Tennessee Diabetes Drug Lawsuit?

Tennessee Diabetes Drug LawsuitDo You Have a Diabetes Drug Lawsuit in Tennessee?

Certain diabetes drugs that are currently popular for treating type II diabetes have been found to potentially cause certain cancers and pancreatitis. Further, other similar drugs have also reportedly been found to cause thyroid problems, including thyroid cancer. Diabetes drugs that have been named in diabetes drug lawsuits include Victoza, Januvia, Janumet, Byetta, and Bydureon. In Tennessee and around the country, these drugs have been widely used and unfortunately have left thousands of patients exposed to their potential issues.

1. Victoza

In June 2011, the FDA issued a statement acknowledging a potential link between the ingredients found in Victoza and cancer. Additionally, the statements that the agency released indicated that patients could have other problems like difficulty breathing, hoarseness, and trouble swallowing.

2. Januvia

First offered in October 2006 after it received approval from the FDA, Merck has since marketed this drug extensively around the country. Unfortunately, two different studies that were conducted in May 2009 and 2011 indicate that the drug could potentially cause pancreatic cancer. Although the drug is designed to treat glucose levels, it also appears to cause problems in many patients.

3. Byetta

The FDA approved this drug in 2005, but there have since been several published studies that have shown that the use of the drug’s active ingredient could potentially cause major problems. In some cases, patients have been found to have pancreatic cancer or thyroid cancer as a result of using this drug.

4. Bydureon

This drug is marketed in Tennessee and around the country as a way to treat the debilitating symptoms of diabetes. Unfortunately, more than 30 cases have been reported to the FDA where the drug appears to have been responsible for a person’s death. As a result, many people have filed diabetes drug lawsuits against the manufacturer of this drug.
