Court documents indicate that the number of Stryker hip lawsuits filed in federal proceedings is continuing to increase in Minnesota. An update from the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation issued on February 19, 2014 indicated that 576 claims were currently pending in the Southern District of Minnesota on behalf of plaintiffs who had allegedly sustained injuries associated with a recall that Stryker Orthopaedics issued nearly two years ago.
The recall, announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on July 6, 2012, resulted in the removal of nearly 20,000 units.
