High-Speed Racing Could Be a Factor in Deadly New Jersey Car Crash

The driver of one of two cars involved in a deadly car crash reportedly fled the scene of the accident, and it is not yet known if he or she has been identified. According to NorthJersey.com, three passengers in one of the two involved vehicles were ejected from the car and landed in the roadway, where authorities later found them. Two of the three victims suffered unspecified injuries but are expected to survive, while the third victim was critically injured and later died at a nearby hospital.

Preliminary reports indicate that the two vehicles were racing at high speeds immediately prior to the fiery accident. Charges relating to the incident are probable now that one of the victims has died, although it is unclear what the nature of those charges will be or whether one or both drivers will face them. The decision is now said to be in the hands of the Morris County Prosecutor’s office.
