Report: Pedestrian Flipped Into The Air By The Impact
Authorities have not yet determined what caused a New York City cab driver to jump a curb and injure himself and two others in the March 2016 accident. Witnesses to the East Side, Manhattan wreck describe a harrowing scene that ended with the cab driver and two victims being transported to a nearby hospital. According to CBS New York, it is not yet clear what caused the taxi driver to run a red light, hop a curb and smash into a building, striking several bystanders along the way.
While none of the three have injuries considered life-threatening in nature, witnesses believe it’s a miracle that more people weren’t injured and that no one was killed. One witness said it appeared the cab driver sped up during the ordeal, and another reported seeing the taxi strike a bicyclist and a lady in the crosswalk, who was flipped into the air by the impact. Authorities have not yet determined if there was a reason, medical or otherwise, behind the cab driver’s actions, and it is not yet known if charges will be filed against the driver or his place of employment, the website reported.
