Officials: Blood Tests Taken and Investigation is Ongoing

A rented sports car caught on video traveling at a high rate of speed may be to blame for a fatal south Nashville, Tennessee, car crash that claimed the life of a 27-year-old man. According to News Channel 5, initial reports suggested that the accident victim, driving a Nissan, may not have yielded to the rented Lamborghini.

However, authorities are taking a closer look at the evidence now that surveillance video allegedly shows the sports car traveling at extreme speeds immediately before the collision occurred. An eyewitness corroborated this, noting that the car appeared to be traveling more than 100 mph. Officials stated that there were no signs of drugs or alcohol present at the crash site and the driver of the Lamborghini was administered a blood test following the accident at a nearby hospital, though the results of that test are not yet available. A decision has also not yet been made as to whether the Lamborghini driver will face charges relating to his role in the crash, the website reported.
