Five Vehicles in Deadly Crash
According to Fox31 Denver, the CSP reported that five vehicles were involved in the incident and that the crash occurred when a 2004 GMC SUV traveling southbound crossed the median and plowed through a cable rail. The car collided with a 2012 Infiniti and a 2001 Scion before hitting a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The Scion, after being struck by the SUV, hit a 2002 Freightliner semi truck, but the driver of the trailer was not injured.
The drivers of the Scion and the Jeep were declared dead at the scene. Two other women were transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland to receive treatment for injuries. Northbound I-25 was reportedly closed for approximately four hours near the scene of the crash while the CSP investigated as crews worked to clean up. According to CSP, the accident will remain under investigation until a cause can be determined, but as of late last week, alcohol, drugs, or speeding were not suspected to have been factors.
When Carelessness Causes an Accident, Those Injured Can Recover Damages
When a driver’s carelessness, or negligence, causes an accident that results in injuries to passengers or other drivers, those harmed as a result of the negligence can seek compensation from the at fault driver. Damages that can be recovered include medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and wrongful death damages for the families of those killed in an accident. People who have been injured due to the fault of another are encouraged to seek the advice of an attorney to determine their rights.
