Stryker Rejuvenate Recalled Hip Replacement

The Stryker Rejuvenate hip replacement systems have received FDA approval between 2008 and 2009. One difference in the approval process between Stryker’s systems and other products is that the Stryker Rejuvenate hip replacement was seen as being very similar to technologies that have receive prior approval and therefore wasn’t subject to mandatory field tests. The manufacturers were only required to keep watch of their products after they were marketed. Since then, GA Stryker Hip Replacement Attorneys have been informed that numerous patients have suffered from injuries and problems associated with Stryker products.

Research done by our Stryker attorneys has determined that there are a few differences between most hip implants and the Stryker Rejuvenate system. While the majority of implants have a neck and stem that is made of one piece, the Stryker Rejuvenate has sixteen necks and six stems. The necks and stems are coated with various metals, such as cobalt, chromium and titanium, which has been shown to cause potential complications that are common with metal-on-metal hip replacements. Our Stryker hip replacement attorneys have been informed that Stryker has issued a recall of the devices due to various problems associated with them, such as corrosion.
