Live Power Lines Trap Driver as First Responders Arrive on Scene

A semi-trailer dump truck may have been the cause of a serious crash involving multiple vehicles when it encroached into an oncoming traffic lane on a one-lane California road. The trailer struck a sedan, which allegedly caused the passenger vehicle to hit an embankment and deflect into a second passenger vehicle, according to The Press Democrat. The collision broke the axle of the trailer, causing the trailer to detach and spill its load. The trailer’s axle and tow bar then struck a power pole and the attached lines, which fell and hit two other vehicles.

Fortunately, most of the people who were involved in this accident weren’t hurt. However, one driver was trapped in his vehicle by live power lines and had to wait for first responders to cut power to the lines before he was able to get out. The driver of the sedan reportedly sustained injuries that were serious enough to require hospitalization, the website reported.
