Officials Uncertain Why Semi Truck Ended on Wrong Side of the Highway

Authorities who responded to an accident involving three vehicles are hoping that further investigation into the accident will reveal more about why the commercial truck driver thought to have caused the crash was traveling in the wrong direction on highway SR-18. According to KomoNews, the June 2016 crash in Hobart, Washington, involved a semi-truck carrying a load of French fries, a dump truck, and a passenger vehicle, and at least one person involved in the accident had to be transferred to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Additional details reveal that the dump truck hit by the big rig ended up stuck on a guardrail at the side of the road with its container dislodged from the back. Meanwhile, the commercial truck driven by the wrong-way driver flipped over onto its side as a result of the impact. The SR-18 roadway was shut down for most of the day for cleanup and to remove the dump truck from the guardrail, the website reported.
