In a recent shocking auto accident death, a 7-month old infant in a stroller was killed while his father waited to cross a busy intersection and two vehicles collided in Arlington, Texas the morning of May 29, 2014. According to police, the investigation is still pending at this time, but these are the details according to the police report, eyewitnesses and local officials.
At around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, a 28-year-old father was waiting with his son infant son at a crosswalk on the corner of California Lane and South Cooper Street in South Central Arlington for traffic to clear so that he could safely push the stroller across the street.
Before the father could proceed, an older model Toyota pickup truck collided with an oncoming white car while trying to make a left turn from South Cooper Street onto California Lane. During the collision, the Toyota jumped the curb and struck the father as well as the stroller.
The driver of the white vehicle, as well as the father, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured. Witnesses on scene reported that the infant was undoubtedly dead on the scene.
This accident is still under investigation. The intersection did not have a red-light camera, and police are still trying to determine whether the pickup truck or the white car had the green light. Texas authorities also report they will examine cell phone records in an attempt to find out more about the cause of this tragic auto accident death.
