NTSB: Pilot Error to Blame in Deadly Plane Crash

An investigation into a deadly Oklahoma plane crash has revealed that the pilot was ultimately responsible for the accident that killed himself and another passenger and injured three others. According to NewsOK, two of the plane’s passengers and the widow of the pilot have now filed lawsuits in connection with the incident against Beechcraft Corp., the plane’s manufacturer, and Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support LLC, the manufacturer’s service center maintenance network.

The investigation that followed the plane crash conducted by the NTSB indicated the pilot allegedly made a number of critical mistakes leading up to the accident, including his failure to adhere to proper procedures after the plane’s engine shut down. The shutdown was a result of another pilot error, the report revealed, because it occurred after he allowed an unqualified passenger, the other person who died in the crash, to take control of the aircraft. In addition to the two fatalities and the two additional injured plane passengers, a third person on the ground was also injured during the crash, the website reported.
