The NutriBullet is a line of blender products developed and marketed for home use. The product is advertised as a compact and hassle-free blender that utilizes “nutrient extraction,” a mechanism the device uses to “break down the cell walls of fibrous plant foods, releasing important vitamins and minerals.” Products include the original NutriBullet, NutriBullet 900 Pro Series, NutriBullet Balance and NurtiBullet Rx.
According to a report by Insider, more than 20 people have filed a lawsuit claiming that they were injured as a result of exploding NutriBullet devices. The most notable risks associated with NutriBullet blenders are cuts and burns. Some NutriBullet owners claim that the blenders heat the contents of their blender in less than 30 seconds, and suddenly, the canister can “explode off of the base” of the blender’s assembly, causing the now hot contents of the blender to land onto the face, neck, chest and arm of the user.
