Product Recalls for the Week of June 20, 2016:

  • The Land of Nod Octopus Baby Rattles Recall: This recall involves The Land of Nod’s Octo-rattles, sold individually or as part of a gift bag set. The knit fabric rattles are yellow and shaped like an octopus with multi-colored felt discs sewn into the tentacles. The fabric discs on the tentacles of the octopus rattles can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. The rattles measure about 9 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 3 inches deep and can attach to strollers or activity gyms. “The Land of Nod,” “Morton Grove, IL 60053,” “951-3072461,” “Made in India” and SKU number 502882 are printed on a label attached to the underside of the rattle. The rattles were sold at the The Land of Nod stores nationwide and online from September 2015 through April 2016. Consumers should immediately take the recalled rattles away from children and contact The Land of Nod to receive a full refund. Recall Date: 06/21/2016
  • Tommee Tippee Electric Bottle and Food Warmers Recall: Mayborn USA Inc. is recalling its Tommee Tippee® Closer to Nature® electric bottle and food warmers, sold separately or as an accessory with the Complete Starter Kit or the All in One Newborn Set. The warmers can overheat and catch on fire, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The bottle and food warmer is white with a gray adjustable control dial located next to the on/off light. Tommee Tippee is stamped in gray on the front of the unit. It measures about 5 inches high, 5 ½ inches wide and 5 inches long. Bottle and food warmers included on this recall have “Min” or “0” stamped on the left-hand side of the control dial and have the UL logo and a six alpha-numeric batch code that begins with a number and ends with “GY” stamped on the underside. Consumers should visit www.tommeetippee.us/bottle-warmer to complete the free replacement registration form. The recalled products were sold at merchandise stores including Baby Depot, Baby Heaven, Bealls Outlet, BuyBuy Baby, CVS, Giant, Ideal Baby and Kids, Kohl’s, Marco Baby, Marshalls, Meijer, Ross Stores, Sam’s Club, Target, TJ Maxx, Toys R Us, Walgreens and Wal-Mart nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Diapers.com, Drugstore.com and Quidsi.com from July 2011 through April 2016. Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled bottle and food warmers and contact Mayborn for free replacement warmers. Recall Date: 06/21/2016
  • Eillien’s Candies Snack Products Recall: Eillien’s Candies Inc. is voluntarily recalling various snack products containing Roasted-Salted Sunflower Kernels and Roasted-Unsalted Sunflower Kernels because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. This recall is being conducted because Eillien’s was notified by SunOpta, the ingredient supplier, that the sunflower kernels may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (L.mono). There have been no reported illnesses to date. However, Eillien’s Candies is initiating the voluntary recall in an abundance of caution to protect public health. The recalled products, found here, were distributed nationwide and are sold at retail stores. Consumers who have purchased any of the above products are urged to dispose of or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Recall Date: 06/21/2016
  • Molly & Drew American Original Beer Bread Mix Recall: Molly & Drew of Sac City, IA is recalling three lots (L1215A, L1215B, and L1215C) of AMERICAN ORIGINAL BEER BREAD MIX sold in retail because it may be contaminated with E. coli O121 bacteria. These three lot codes of AMERICAN ORIGINAL BEER BREAD MIX retail product were manufactured by Molly & Drew and sold at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® in its retail stores nationwide. Lots of Molly & Drew’s AMERICAN ORIGINAL BEER BREAD MIX purchased from other retail stores or from Molly & Drew’s website are not affected by this recall. No other Molly & Drew products are affected by this recall. The affected AMERICAN ORIGINAL BEER BREAD retail product is in a red 19.75 oz. bag with the UPC number 855290003008 and Item Number: BB100. The specified lot code will be printed along the bottom seal of the pouch and will be accompanied by a BEST BUY DATE of 01/2018. If you have the affected retail product, do not use it and throw it in the garbage. If you would like a refund of the retail product purchased at a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®, you may return the product to a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® location for a full refund or you may contact Molly & Drew for a refund or replacement for the recalled product.   • National Frozen Foods Frozen Green Peas and Frozen Mixed Vegetables Recall: National Frozen Foods Corporation is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Not-Ready-To Eat frozen green peas and frozen mixed vegetables because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.The products being recalled listed here were distributed in retail stores nationwide between September 2, 2015 and June 2, 2016. The recalled items can be identified by the date codes printed on the back of the retail sized bag or the side of the master case. Consumers should not consume these products. Consumers who purchased affected products may return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Recall Date: 06/20/2016
  • GNP Company Chicken Products Recall: GNP Company is recalling approximately 55,608 pounds of chicken products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials. The chicken products were produced on various dates from June 6 to June 9, 2016. The full list of the recalled chicken products may be found here. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-322” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped for food service and retail distribution nationwide. The problem was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS that sand and black soil were found in some of their products. The source of the contamination is currently under investigation by the establishment and law enforcement. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Recall Date: 06/18/2016
  • Sea Queen Swai Fillets Recall: U.S. Cado Holdings Inc. is recalling approximately 25,760 pounds of imported, frozen Swai fillets products that were distributed into U.S. commerce without meeting federal requirements. The skinless and boneless Sea Queen brand Swai Fillet items were produced and packed on March 30, 2016, in Vietnam by Golden Quality Seafood Corporation. The product subject to recall is a @ lb. (32-oz.) packages containing individually wrapped pieces of “Skinless and Boneless Swai Fillets”. The products subject to recall bear plant number FN1158, lot number SW1601-02-16090, and have a “best by” date of March 30, 2018. These items were shipped to Aldi distribution centers in Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The problem was discovered when the customer and import establishment notified FSIS personnel of Swai products entering U.S. commerce without meeting FSIS regulatory requirements for imported Siluriformes. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Recall Date: 06/20/2016
  • Ecovent Room Sensors Recall: This recall involves the Ecovent Room Sensors, which plug into an electrical outlet, measure room temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The cover can come off during normal use, exposing high voltage components and posing an electrical shock hazard. The unit also provides electrical outlets in the center of the device and USB ports on the sides. “Ecovent,” model number “SS1,” part number “901-00001” and date numbers 4415-5215 and 0116-0916” are printed on a label on the back of the device. The recalled products were sold online at www.ecoventsystems.com from December 2015 through April 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled units. Ecovent has contacted consumers via email and phone notifications, sent the replacement parts and provided return postage for affected parts. If consumers have not been notified, they should contact the firm. Recall Date: 06/22/2016
  • Lance Oyster Crackers Recall: Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. is issuing a voluntary recall for certain code dates of their Lance brand Oyster Crackers. This action is the direct result of a recent recall by the wheat flour supplier, Grain Craft, due to certain lots of flour that may contain low levels of undeclared peanut residue. The Oyster Crackers subject to the recall may have been produced using the recalled flour and, as a result, this product may contain low levels of undeclared peanut residue. While those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume products containing peanut allergens, the FDA has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours and affected products is considered to be low and not expected to cause adverse reactions in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers. This product is sold through Food Service channels and is distributed nationwide to restaurants and other institutions. Only the following “Use By” case code dates for Lance Oyster Crackers are affected by this action: “23 JUL 16”, “30 JUL 16” and “13 AUG 16”. This product should not be made available to consumers. Recall Date: 06/22/2016
  • Kellogg Graham Products Recall: Kellogg Company is voluntarily recalling certain graham crumbs because they were made using Grain Craft flour which may have contained undeclared allergen peanut residue. To date, there have been no reported illnesses related to the affected product. The affected graham cracker crumbs were used in certain lots of cheesecakes produced in SpartanNash’s Central Kitchen facility. The items had a sell by date of June 6-21, 2016, and they are no longer in the stores. The recalled products include: ITEM: Spartan Fresh Selections Cherry Cheesecake SIZE: 5 ounces LOT NUMBER: 6/6/2016 – 6/21/2016 (sell by date) UPC: 11213-03462 SPARTAN CODE: #595; ITEM: Spartan Fresh Selections Strawberry Cheesecake SIZE: 5 ounces LOT NUMBER: 6/6/2016 – 6/21/2016 (sell by date) UPC: 11213-03463 SPARTAN CODE: #596; ITEM: Spartan Fresh Selections Blueberry Cheesecake SIZE: 5 ounces LOT NUMBER: 6/6/2016 – 6/21/2016 (sell by date) UPC: 11213-03464 SPARTAN CODE: #597. Out of an abundance of caution, SpartanNash sent a notice to its “yes” Rewards Card holders who may have purchased a recalled item. SpartanNash is offering a full refund. Consumers should return the product to the store where the item was purchased. Recall Date: 06/21/2016
  • Pinnacle Foods C&W Peas Recall: Pinnacle Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of C&W Early Harvest Petite Peas and C&W Petite Peas because they may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The recalled products were distributed nationally and online. All affected distributors and retail customers are being notified and the recalled products are being removed from store shelves. The recalled items can be identified by a “Best by” code printed on the back of the bag. Those codes may be found here. Consumers should not consume these products. Affected product may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. Recall Date: 06/21/2016
  • HP Lithium-Ion Batteries Recall: This recall involves lithium-ion batteries containing Panasonic cells that are used in HP notebook computers. The battery packs can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. The batteries are compatible with HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion notebook computers. The black batteries measure about 8 inches long, 2 inches wide and about 1 inch high. The battery bar code is printed on the back of the battery. “HP Notebook Battery” and the model number are printed on the battery. The batteries included in this recall have the following barcodes: 6BZLU, 6CGFK, 6CGFQ, 6CZMB, 6DEMA, 6DEMH, 6DGAL and 6EBVA. The batteries were sold at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Costco and authorized dealers nationwide and online at www.hp.com from March 2013 through August 2015. The batteries were sold with notebook computers for between $300 and $1,700.  The batteries were also sold separately for between $50 and $90. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled batteries, remove them from the notebook computers and contact HP for a free replacement battery. Recall Date: 06/23/2016
  • 3M Hard Hats Recall: 3M is recalling its vented hard hats sold under the 3M™, 3M™ Tekk Protection™ and AOSafety™ brands. Hard hats sold online were marketed to protect against electric shock, but they do not provide this protection, posing a shock hazard to consumers. The hard hats are white, have eight, ¾-inch long ventilation slits along each side at the hat’s crown and have a ratchet adjustment for fit.  “3M” or “AOSafety” is molded into the white plastic on the top of the brim.  “XLR8 VENTED” is molded onto the bottom of the brim. “ANSI Z89.1” is printed on a sticker inside the hard hats. This recall only involves the 3M hard hats sold online. The recalled products were sold online at Alliedelec.com, Amazon.com and HomeDepot.com from January 2008 through April 2016. Consumers who purchased the hard hats online for protection against electrical shock should immediately stop using them and contact 3M for a free replacement hard hat. Recall Date: 06/23/2016
  • October Mountain Hanging Bow Scales Recall: This recall involves OMP M-100 digital hanging bow scales that measure the user’s peak or holding weight in archery and bow hunting.The mounting ring on the scales can break during use, posing impact and laceration hazards to the user. The orange plastic pocket-size, portable scales measure about 8 inches long by 4 inches wide by 1.2 inches deep. They have three buttons on the front. On one end of the scale there is a hook and a metal ring on the other. M-100 and the OMP logo are printed in black lettering on the front of the scale. The scales were sold at Academy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Gun World & Archery Shop, Scheel’s and other sporting goods stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Eder’s, OctoberMountainProducts.com, Walmart.com and other online retailers from November 2015 through March 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hanging bow scales and contact October Mountain Products to receive a full refund. Recall Date: 06/23/2016
  • Atlantic Spice Sunflower Seeds and Snacks Recall: Atlantic Spice Company Inc. of North Truro, MA, is recalling it’s 16 ounce packages of Sunflower Seeds Roasted Salted, Tropical Mix and Cranberry Health Mix snacks because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The products were distributed locally and nationally. The product comes in a 16 ounce, clear plastic package marked with lot numbers on the bottom right and with the numbers 15 and 11 at the top right. The potential for contamination was noted in relationship to the SunOpta Sunflower Seed Recall. The sale of the affected lot numbers has been suspended. Consumers who have purchased these snacks are urged to dispose of them. Recall Date: 06/23/2016
  • Bolthouse Farms Protein Drinks Recall: Bolthouse Farms is voluntarily recalling a selection of protein drinks due to possible spoilage that may cause the beverages to appear lumpy, taste unpleasant and have an off odor. These products should not be consumed. The issue was identified after the company received consumer complaints, including reports of illness. The cause of this issue is currently under investigation. The recall includes Protein PLUS shakes with ‘best by’ dates between 6/20/16 to 9/18/16. The full list of recalled products may be found here. This recall also affects Mocha Cappuccino products. The best by dates are printed on the cap and label at the neck of the bottle and the UPC appears on the bar code. The recall affects 3.8 million bottles that have been distributed nationally in the United States. Bolthouse Farms is advising people not to drink these beverages and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. Recall Date: 06/22/2016
  • Honey Maid Teddy Grahams Snacks Recall: Mondelēz Global LLC announced a nationwide voluntary recall in the United States of the Honey Maid Teddy Grahams Cinnamon Cubs Graham Snacks sold only in Foodservice channels (not supermarkets). This recall is being conducted out of an abundance of caution following notification of a wheat flour recall by Grain Craft, a third-party flour supplier to one of our external manufacturers due to the potential for undeclared low levels of peanut residue in the flour. The recalled product is Honey Maid Teddy Grahams Cinnamon Cubs Graham Snacks, 0.5 oz. with a UPC of 019320016769 and with a Best When Used By Dates of 11 Oct 16 – 12 Oct 16. This recall is limited exclusively to the Honey Maid Teddy Grahams Cinnamon Cubs Graham Snacks, manufactured and sold in the U.S. through the Foodservice channel. No other Honey Maid, Teddy Grahams or any other Mondelēz International product is included in this recall, and the recall does not involve any product purchased in retail channels (supermarkets, etc.). Affected consumers who have this product should not eat it and should discard any products they may have. Recall Date: 06/23/2016
  • Rad Cat Products Recall: Radagast Pet Food, Inc. (Portland, OR) has announced a voluntary recall of four lots of frozen Rad Cat Raw Diet products, sold in 8 oz., 16 oz., and 24 oz. tubs, and free 1 oz. sample cups, due to the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes. Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products. All affected lot codes 62384, 62361, 62416, and 62372 and Best By dates are located on the lid of all products packaged in tubs and on the bottom of the sample cups. The recalled products were distributed in western Canada and all US States except in HI and MS. A full list of the recalled products may be found here. Do not return any of these recalled products to the retailer and dispose in a secure garbage receptacle. For refund claims, fill out all sections of the Consumer Claims Form which can be found on the website www.RadFood.com and return this form only to the retailer where you purchased the product for a refund. Recall Date: 06/23/2016
