Product Recalls for the Week of October 10, 2016:

  • Belgian Boys Mini Pancakes: Le Petit Belge, LLC is voluntarily recalling 480 cases of Belgian Boys Mini Pancakes, Lot 20432, because it may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. The affected lot of BELGIAN BOYS MINI PANCAKES was sold from June 2016 through the end of September 2016 to distributors located in Texas, Maryland, California, Illinois, and Canada for further distribution to retail stores. BELGIAN BOYS MINI PANCAKES are packaged in a 10.6 oz./300 g box with UPC 857290005204, Lot 20432 (located on lower front box panel), and Best Before Jul 07 2017 code (located on the bottom flap). There are 12 boxes packed in a case. The products were manufactured and imported from The Netherlands. Consumers who have purchased Belgian Boys Mini Pancakes that are allergic to milk are urged no to consume it and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Recall Date: 10/07/2016
  • Silver Springs Farms Beef Products (expanded recall): Silver Springs Farms, Inc. is recalling approximately 7,970 pounds of ground beef and burger products, and 208,397 pounds of sandwich steak products that may be adulterated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The items were produced on various dates from August 19 to Sept. 9, 2016. A complete list of recalled products can be found here. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 4771” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to institutional and retail establishments nationwide. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Recall Date: 10/07/2016
  • Brownwood Farms Products: Brownwood Farms is recalling approximately 15,000 total units of the listed products, because they contain undeclared soy or Yellow #5 food coloring. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy or Yellow #5 food coloring run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction, if they consume these products. The affected products were distributed across the United States through distributors, retailers and on-line sales from the Brownwood Farms website.   • Nestlé Drumsticks: Nestlé USA, Inc. is initiating a voluntary recall of its Nestlé Drumstick Club 16 count Variety Pack and 24 count Vanilla Pack (with cones marked for easy individual sale) due to a possible health risk. The two pack sizes contain 4.6 fl.oz. cones and were manufactured in Bakersfield, Calif. and distributed nationally. No other production codes, sizes or varieties of Nestlé Drumstick products are affected by this recall. The company received positive test results for Listeria monocytogenes (LM) from equipment contact surfaces from a location on the production line where these products are made. There have been no positive test results for LM present in the Drumstick cones themselves. The products impacted by the voluntary recall were put into distribution inadvertently. No illnesses have been reported to date; the company is initiating this recall as a precautionary action to avoid any potential for consumer illness. The Nestlé recall is limited to the Drumstick Club 16 Count Variety Pack and 24 count Vanilla Pack, made at the company’s Bakersfield, Calif. ice cream production facility. The product identification codes can be found on the back of the packages and on the individually marked vanilla cones from the 24 count pack.  The two packs being recalled carry distinct UPC codes, as well as a “best before” date and production code.   • Osage Gardens Micro Greens: Osage Gardens Inc. is recalling Osage Gardens Organic 2oz Micro Greens, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection withSalmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. Osage Gardens Organic 2oz Micro Greens was distributed to Whole Foods stores in Colorado and Kansas. The Osage Gardens Organic 2oz Micro Greens product is packed in a clear plastic clamshell and has a label on the bottom with a UPC Code 709376615008 and affected product are dated with a Julian codes from 266 to 279. Consumers who have purchased Osage Gardens Organic 2oz Micro Greens are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Recall Date: 10/07/2016
  • CESAR® Classics Filet Mignon Flavor Product: Mars Petcare US announced a voluntary recall of a limited number of CESAR® Classics Filet Mignon Flavor product due to a potential choking risk from hard white pieces of plastic which entered the food during the production process. CESAR® Classics Filet Mignon can be purchased individually, as well as, in flavor variety multipacks. Consumers who have purchased affected product are encouraged to discard the food or return it to the retailer for a full refund or exchange. Affected product was distributed to retail customers throughout the United States. Mars Petcare US is working with all of our distributors and retailers to ensure that the recalled products are no longer sold and are removed from inventory. Two lot codes of CESAR® Classics Filet Mignon Flavor wet dog food with the production codes shown below are included in this voluntary recall. Each product will have a lot code printed on side of the tray that begins with 631FKKC, 631GKKC. A Best Before date 080418 (August 4, 2018) and 080518 (August 5, 2018). The CESAR® Classics Filet Mignon Flavor can be found in variety packs with the following lot codes: 632D14JC, 633B24JC, 634A14JC, 634A24JC, 634B14JC, 634B24JC, 634E14JC, 635A24JC, 635B14JC, 636D24JC, 636E14JC.   • Ready-To-Eat Lunchables: Kraft Heinz Company is recalling approximately 959 pounds of ready-to-eat “Lunchables Ham and American Cracker Stackers” packaged lunch products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The product contains wheat and soy, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label. The ready-to-eat meat and cheese packaged lunch items were produced on September 21, 2016. Products included in the recall include 3.4 oz boxes containing four-compartment plastic trays of “Lunchables Ham and American Cracker Stackers,” with a USE BY date of 25 DEC 2016 and production times ranging from 9:13 to 10:00 stamped on the side of the plastic container. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 537K” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Utah and California. The establishment determined that the “Lunchables Ham and American Cracker Stackers” products were incorrectly labeled with the back label for a “Nacho Lunchable” product. The back label contains the product ingredient statements and as such, the “Lunchables Ham and American Cracker Stackers” products that were mislabeled do not declare wheat and soy on the label. Consumers who have purchased this product are urged not to consume it. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Recall Date: 10/09/2016
  • Blue Bell Ice Cream Products: Blue Bell Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling all products that were made with a cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third party supplier Aspen Hills, Inc., due to the potential for them to contain Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. No illnesses have been reported to date. Blue Bell initiated this expanded recall after Aspen Hills provided additional information on affected cookie dough lots. Although our products in the marketplace have passed our test and hold program, which requires that finished product samples from a batch test negative for Listeriamonocytogenes before the batch can be released, Blue Bell is initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution. This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the FDA. This recall includes the following products in half gallons and pints, Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Blue Bell Cookie Two Step sold to retail outlets, and three gallon flavors sold to food service accounts including Blue Bell Blue Monster, Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Blue Bell Krazy Kookie Dough. These products were produced from February 2, 2016 through September 7, 2016. The consumer and food service products produced with the cookie dough pieces were distributed in the following states Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Consumers should not eat the recalled products and are encouraged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Recall Date: 10/10/2016
  • Blue Bunny Hoppin’ Hollidoodle Ice Cream: Wells Enterprises, Inc. is voluntarily recalling two lots of Blue Bunny Hoppin’ Holidoodle ice cream sold at retail outlets, because they contain snickerdoodle cookie dough pieces recalled by the supplier, Aspen Hills, due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Wells has received no reports of illness attributable to this product. Only Hoppin’ Holidoodle ice cream with the following lot numbers and best if used by dates are included in this recall. The recalled product is a seasonal holiday flavor with very limited geographic distribution in six states. Consumers should check the side of their ice cream packages to check for the following lot numbers and best if used by dates: UPC 070640014644; Lot 60001 MM 19115 6228; Best if used by 02/13/18; and UPC 070640014651 (High altitude); Lot 60001 MM 19115 6229; Best if used by 02/14/18. Recalled products were distributed in NE, OK, KS, MO, AZ, and TX. Consumers with product matching lot numbers and best if used by dates should return the products to the retail outlets where purchased for a full refund. Recall Date: 10/10/2016
  • Specialized Road Bicycles: Specialized Bicycle Components Inc. is recalling its road bicycles because the bicycles rear wheel can come out of the dropout causing fractures in the rear triangle; presenting an injury hazard to riders. This recall involves 2016 Specialized S-Works Venge Vias and Venge Pro Vias road bicycles. They were sold in black, white, red and black, white and black and green and blue color combinations. An S-works or Specialized decal can be found on the downtube. Recalled bicycles were sold at authorized Specialized retailers from July 2015 through September 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact an Authorized Specialized retailer for free installation of a new rear derailleur hanger and a safety inspection.   • Roland® Preserved Lemons: Roland Foods, LLC in cooperation with the manufacturer in Morocco, is voluntarily recalling specific lots of Roland® Preserved Lemons due to undeclared sulfites in the product. People who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. The affected lots of Roland® Preserved Lemons were distributed nationwide and to Canada to food distributors, food service customers, and super market chains for further distribution or use. The following products are subject to the voluntary recall: Product: Roland® Preserved Lemons; Lot #: 20; Item #: 61002 (on case label); UPC #: Item UPC 4122461002 and Case UPC 10041224610023; Pack Size: NET WT. 12.35 OZ.; 12 glass jars per case; Production Codes: DA: 169Z P: 0618 (ink jet printed on the jar lid) and Product: Roland® PRESERVED LEMONS – BELDI; Lot #: 21; Item #: 61002 (on case label); UPC #: Item UPC 4122461002 and Case UPC 10041224610023; Pack Size: NET WT. 13 OZ.; 12 glass jars per case; Production Code: P: Q0303 (ink jet printed on the jar lid). Consumers who have a sensitivity to sulfites and had purchased the affected Roland Preserved Lemons are urged not to consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase.   • Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Products: Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Company, Inc. is recalling select ice cream products, because they were made with a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by Aspen Hills, Inc., which has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The ice cream products were distributed to the following states AL, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, WA, WI & WV. The ice cream products were distributed to various ice cream shops around the country, online outlets and limited grocery stores. A complete list of recalled products can be found here. The affected product can be identified by the code date listed on the bottom right hand corner of the product label on 3 gallon cartons and by the code date listed on the bottom of each pint. Customers are urged to destroy or return the affected products.Full credit will be offered for a full refund of the products in question. Recall Date: 10/11/2016
  • Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar: Nutrisystem Everyday, LLC, the retail division of Nutrisystem, Inc., is voluntarily recalling the Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar, manufactured by Noble Foods, Inc. This bar contains a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third party supplier, which advised that its ingredient might potentially contain Listeria monocytogenes. The product had very limited distribution of 1 lot/455 cases to ShopRite and Hannaford stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com. No other code dates of this product or other Nutrisystem® products in retail are affected. No Nutrisystem ‘direct to consumer’ product is impacted in any way. This voluntary recall covers the Nutrisystem Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar. The bar was sold as a 5-count carton. The product can be identified by the UPC 6 32674 85579 4, Enjoy by Aug 22 2017 and Lot Code NF082216A. All code information is found on the back panel of the carton. Consumers may discard the product or return it to the ShopRite or Hannaford from where it was purchased for a full refund. Twenty-four customers of Amazon.com and Walmart.com have already been identified, instructed to discard the product, and will be issued a refund. Recall Date: 10/11/2016
  • Mamas & Papas Armadillo Strollers: Mamas & Papas Ltd. is recalling its Armadillo Flip Strollers because a loose latch on the stroller can cause the seat to tip back unexpectedly when infant is in the parent-facing position, posing a fall hazard to infants. This recall involves Mamas & Papas’ Armadillo Flip and Armadillo Flip XT strollers.  All models are folding, single-occupant infant strollers. The strollers come in various colors including black, teal and navy and weigh about 22 pounds. Recalled items can be identified by their lot number, which is the month and year of manufacture. Lot numbers ranges for recalled Armadillo Flip strollers are 00814 through 00416 (August 2014 through April 2016). Lot number ranges for the Flip XT are 01214 through 00416 (December 2014 through April 2016). The lot number is printed on the sewn-in label on the stroller. Recalled strollers were sold at Albee Baby, Babies ‘R’ Us, Buy Buy Baby and other stores nationwide and online at www.mamasandpapas.com and www.Amazon.com from December 2014 through July 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using the strollers and contact Mamas & Papas for a free repair. Recall Date: 10/12/2016
  • Animal Fat Products: Chicharrones J&J is recalling approximately 2,064 pounds of pork lard products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The products contain milk, a known allergen, and sodium nitrite, which are not declared on the product label. The pork lard products were produced on various dates from June 16, 2016 through Oct.12, 2016. Recalled products include 1lb, 2lb, and 3lb plastic tubs of “Chicharrones J&J Rendered Animal Fat.” The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 31638” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to various retail locations in California. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. Recall Date: 10/12/206
  • Cheese Products: Kuster’s, Inc. of is voluntarily recalling 14,238 pounds of its shredded, sliced and cubed cheese out of an abundance of caution. Kuster’s, Inc., was notified by its supplier, Farm Country Cheese, Lakeview, MI, that the cheese has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The shredded cheese was distributed in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Products included in this voluntary recall are: sharp white cheddar, mozzarella/muenster/provolone, Monterey Jack, pepper jack,four blend, three blend; pepper jack cubes; and co/jack slices. Product dates can be found in the bottom center of the label. The shredded cheese was sold in 5 pound plastic bags under the Kuster’s Dairy Foods, Fata’s Best and Nor-Tech Dairy labels.   • Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Smartphones (Expanded Recall): Samsung Electronics America Inc. is expanding its recall on Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones because the lithium-ion battery in the Galaxy Note7 smartphones can overheat and catch fire, posing serious fire and burn hazard to consumers. This recall involves all Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphones. The recalled devices have a 5.7 inch screen and were sold in the following colors: black onyx, blue coral, gold platinum and silver titanium with a matching stylus. Samsung is printed on the top front of the phone and Galaxy Note7 is printed on the back of the phone. This recall involves all Galaxy Note7 devices received as replacements as part of the previous Galaxy Note7 recall on September 15, 2016 and any Galaxy Note 7 with a green battery icon, regardless of date purchased or IMEI. Samsung has received 96 reports of batteries in Note7 phones overheating in the U.S., including 23 new reports since the September 15 recall announcement. Samsung has received 13 reports of burns and 47 reports of property damage associated with Note7 phones. Recalled phones were sold at Wireless carriers and electronic stores nationwide, including AT&T, Best Buy, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon stores, online at www.samsung.com and other websites and on third party websites from August 2016 through October 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using and power down all Galaxy Note7 devices, including Note7 devices received as replacements in the previous recall. Contact the wireless carrier, retail outlet or Samsung.com where you purchased your device to receive a refund or free exchange for a new replacement device plus incentives. Consumers who purchased their phones from other sources should contact Samsung directly to receive a free remedy.   • Roylco Educational Light Cubes: Roylco, Inc. is recalling its educational light cubes because the light cube’s lithium polymer battery can overheat and catch fire, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves the Roylco Educational Light Cubes with model number R59601. The model number is located on the user guide included with the light cube. The educational light cube is a white cube measuring 16 inches high by 16 inches wide by 16 inches deep. The cubes have a light source and a battery located in the base. The cube is primarily used for creative learning involving light in the early childhood classroom. Recalled products were sold at educational dealers and distributors nationwide, including Beyond Play, Charles J. Becker, Excelligence, Hatch and Kaplan from December 2013 through April 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled light cubes and contact Roylco for instructions on returning the light cubes for a free replacement of the light source, which contains the battery.   • Sawyer Barstools: LF Products is recalling its Sawyer Barstools because screws on the barstools can loosen, posing a fall hazard to the user. This recall involves LF Products Sawyer swivel barstools sold in black, white, distressed blue, and dark brown. The recalled barstools have a tan cushion and were sold in two heights, 24 inches and 30 inches. “LF Products” is printed on a label affixed to the barstool. Recalled barstools were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide and online at bedbathandbeyond.com from May 2012 through March 2016. Consumers should immediately check to ensure that the hardware on their barstools is secure. Consumers with barstools that have loosened screws should download and review the revised assembly instructions at www.bedbathandbeyond.com/sawyerstoolinstructions, and reassemble the barstools.   • Chimparoo Baby Carriers: L’echarpe Porte-bonheaur Inc. is recalling its Trek Baby Carriers because the carriers’ side strap can loosen unexpectedly from the buckle, posing a fall hazard to the child in the carrier. This recall involves Chimparoo brand Trek baby carriers that allow the user to carry a baby tummy to tummy, on the hip or on the back. The 100% twill fabric carriers were sold in 18 solid, striped and pattern color combinations. The carriers attach to the wearer’s body with adjustable straps made of polypropylene webbing and plastic buckles. “Chimparoo” is printed on the upper right hand corner of the carrier. “Trek” is embroidered on the belt. Recalled carriers were sold at children’s boutique stores, such as Granola Babies, of Costa Mesa, Calif., Eat/Sleep/Play, of Summerville, SC and Top to Bottom, of Omaha, Neb. and online atwww.Amazon.com and www.Chimaparoo.ca from May 2016 through July 2016. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled baby carriers and contact Chimparoo for a free replacement buckle for the baby carrier’s side buckle. Recall Date: 10/13/2016
