Truck Accident Lawsuit: Woman And Three Children Killed by Speeding Driver

According to Jacksonville.com, a vehicle being driven by the plaintiff’s wife broke down on the center lane of a bridge in Jacksonville, Florida. Even though another vehicle had stopped behind the disabled car, a semi truck ploughed into both vehicles, killing the plaintiff’s wife and three stepchildren. The lawsuit, filed in August 2015, alleges that the semi truck driver was speeding and was distracted at the time of the accident.

The lawsuit further alleges that the truck driver began working for the trucking company less than 10 days before the crash, even though the company had not completed the required background and safety check to verify that he was a safe and qualified commercial driver. The lawsuit seeks to prove that the truck driver wasn’t paying attention and that there was no visual obstruction, bad weather or other excuses for the truck driver not to see the stalled vehicle. The lawsuit is set for trial in late 2016, the website reported.
