Mother Disputes Facility’s Claims that Toddler Caused Her Own burns
A lawsuit is expected to be filed against a day care after a two-year-old little girl left in its care suffered serious burns to much of her body, including her thigh, stomach and chest. According to 7 News Miami, the incident sent the little girl on an overnight visit to the intensive care unit and occurred when she was left in the care of the day care owner’s 22-year-old daughter after the owner left for an appointment.
According to the child’s mother, she was told by day care staff that the little girl was burned after she flipped over a hot cup of tea, spilling it all over herself. The parents are skeptical about this version of events, and they are questioning just how hot tea would have to be in order to cause the second and third-degree burns the toddler suffered.
