Traumatized Teen Fought For Survival
The teenager and her step-grandparents were flying to Lynden, Washington from Kalispell, Montana. The plane never made it to Washington however. According to a news report, the girl said that they encountered some clouds during the flight and crashed shortly afterwards.
The teenager was the sole survivor of the crash. She remained at the crash scene for at least a day before finally finding her way out of the mountains. It took her a couple of days to reach a nearby road, where she was able to flag down a passing motorist and raise the alarm. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
